Cape Cod Green Builder
Sustainable Green Construction

Though all things "green" are the latest trend in a broad and diverse construction industry, Cape Associates' commitment to energy efficient, sustainable construction (green building) on Cape Cod is as old as our roots. In the early 1970's soon after the company was founded, we installed numerous solar hot water rooftop collection systems, well insulated homes and employed smart construction practices.

Depending upon your project goals, we can deliver a solution anywhere on the spectrum from incorporating a few, smart "green" techniques and product to a full project certification. Organizations that we have worked with to certify projects include:

Every project we do has at least one "green" aspect to it. Some common "green" characteristics and components:

  • Well-insulated building envelope to optimize heating and cooling efficiency
  • Renewable energy (solar hot water, solar photovoltaic electric)
  • Efficient framing methods
  • High efficiency heating and cooling systems
  • FSC certified building materials
  • SFI certified building materials
  • Rapidly renewable materials (bamboo, cork flooring)
  • Materials with high recycled content (countertops, carpets, flooring)
  • Locally extracted and produced materials
  • Energy efficient fixtures and appliances
  • Reduced construction waste; on-site recycling
