Cape Associates is partnering with Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation to build and raffle off a “SCHOOLhouse PLAYhouse.” Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation will spearhead the raffle ticket sales and Cape Associates will construct and deliver the playhouse this fall. For the first time, the design of the playhouse will be determined by a design contest, open to and judged by the public.
Design submissions are due May 19 and must include 4 elevation drawings and a plan view drawing. Dimensions should not exceed 8’(width) x 5’(depth) x 8’(height). Additional renderings and isometric drawings are encouraged but not required. Submissions should be sent to Andrea Baerenwald at Cape Associates: [email protected].
Since 2001, Cape Associates has been building a children’s playhouse each year and raffling it off during Eastham Windmill Weekend. All proceeds are donated to a local non-profit organization. The idea has grown over the years, and now Cape Associates builds two playhouses annually. To date, more than $97,000 has been raised. The playhouses are typically constructed at the beginning of the summer and raffled off early September.
