Cape Associates’ commitment to energy-efficient, sustainable construction on Cape Cod has been a decades-long mission. As an ongoing part of that commitment, Cape Associates is pleased to announce the inception of its contract with IGS Solar, a turn-key commercial and residential solar energy provider based in Dublin, Ohio. Cape Associates will receive part of its energy from IGS’ recently completed solar farm in Rochester, Massachusetts, helping them to achieve their renewable energy goals.
Matt Cole, President and CEO of Cape Associates, states, “This agreement reinforces our commitment made long ago to utilize sustainable practices as part of green building on Cape Cod and surrounding areas.”
The Cape Associates headquarters, located at 325 Massasoit in Eastham, was awarded a LEED-Gold rating in 2016 and currently employs three solar electric systems that provide a portion of the required energy to support the location. The additional power provided by IGS will supplement that supply.
The building at 325 Massasoit Road is named The Michael H. Cole Building in honor of Cape Associates’ former president, Michael Cole, who led the company for three decades. Cape Associates offers custom building, renovations, painting, home watch and property management services. The company employs more than 120 year-round employees with offices in Eastham, Chatham and Yarmouthport.
